So.... my husband goes out to lunch today and he tells me that he got me some hot sauce & chips. I was like 'whoo hoo' - I love that hot sauce.
Five o'clock rolls around and I leave work like my feet were on fire - since it takes me 45 minutes to get home and I really wanted crunchy chips and spicy sauce. I pull into the driveway, come in the house, change into my comfy clothes and head to the kitchen to get my snack only to find out that somebody has eaten the whole bag of chips. Really? All they left me was crumbs. Bummer deal.
With that being said - I have no chips & hot sauce AND dinner is crappy. Leftovers from the 'unique' casserole my husband made ....
Looks like I will either eat the darned crappy casserole or go to be hungry. I am voting on the going to bed hungry option because I did not care for the casserole last night either.

First snow of Winter
This morning I was surprised with a light dusting of snow.
Just a little bit of fluffy white to brighten the day.
We don't get much in the way of snow here in North Texas. We usually see ice and sleet (yuck!)
As any other good mother would do - I monitor my daughter's posts and text messages and today my heart broke when I read the exchanges between her and her older brother who is currently away at Tech School in the Air Force. He asked her what she would like for Christmas and her first reply was 'I don't know." Her brother responded with a 'don't be silly' comment and her reply brought tears to my eyes - she told him that all she wants for Christmas is for him to come home because she misses him.
I hope he does get to come home at least to visit with his siblings. I know he does not want to see or speak to me and I am fine with that.
Also with the first snow of the season - I bought my youngest daughter her first winter formal tonight. It is amazing how quickly they grow up.... one day it is the perfect valentine in elementary school, the next it is a dress for a formal occassion. Now which dress will she chose to wear? The Black & White one or the Red one ?
She looks incredible in both.
Until later ... time to kick back and watch a nice chick flick.

Best Wishes
As I sit here on this Sunday morning reading the current events on the news, in my forums and the single blog I follow, I am reminded of exactly how lucky I am.
I have four incredible children, three fur babies and an adoring husband (who brought me a nice steamy cup of coffee to wake me up this morning). What more can anybody ask for?
My thoughts and prayers go out to the grandmother that blogs often about the trials and tribulations she and her daughter go through each day in their fight to regain custody of three small children. Can't the father see that he is hurting the children more than he is ''punishing' their mother?
Even though my older two children are no longer living at home and I am not able to walk up and just give them a big bear hug - I know that they are safe and sound.

Campout with the Girls tonight ...
So tonight is the night - I am venturing out into the wild with a group of Cadette Girl Scouts in tents, at the lake and it is not a nice warm summer night.... it is winter!
The girls will be cooking all the meals and I can't wait to see how they do and taste the food they prepare for us ....
The girls will be working on two different camping themed badges this weekend - the Master of the Campfire and Advanced Outdoor Cooking.
I am off to get the last of my gear together for our weekend.
Wish me luck !
Make today the day you tell that person how they have, unknowingly, inspired you.. Give them a call, shoot them an email, or simply show them gratitude by spending a few minutes of silence in their honor... reflecting on how they inspired you. You may just, unknowingly, inspire them by simply being you!

Inspiration ....
If you had told me a year ago that I would start a blog - I would have told you "no way".
Life here at home has changed so much in the past 6 months.
My oldest son has graduated from high school, then Air Force Basic Training and he is now stationed in Mississippi. I don't even know if he will be home for Christmas this year.
My younger children have settled into the school year and are doing well. They don't really seem to be affected by the void that has been left with the absence of their older brother.
But .... back to my opening statement - I would never have imagined 'blogging' but I stumbled on a blog in September that has touched me. It is the daily account of a very courageous grandmother trying to reunited her family. Her story has inspired me in so many ways.
