Best Wishes

As I sit here on this Sunday morning reading the current events on the news, in my forums and the single blog I follow, I am reminded of exactly how lucky I am.

I have four incredible children, three fur babies and an adoring husband (who brought me a nice steamy cup of coffee to wake me up this morning).  What more can anybody ask for?

My thoughts and prayers go out to the grandmother that blogs often about the trials and tribulations she and her daughter go through each day in their fight to regain custody of three small children.  Can't the father see that he is hurting the children more than he is ''punishing' their mother?

Even though my older two children are no longer living at home and I am not able to walk up and just give them a big bear hug - I know that they are safe and sound.

Campout with the Girls tonight ...

So tonight is the night - I am venturing out into the wild with a group of Cadette Girl Scouts in tents, at the lake and it is not a nice warm summer night....  it is winter!

The girls will be cooking all the meals and I can't wait to see how they do and taste the food they prepare for us ....

The girls will be working on two different camping themed badges this weekend - the Master of the Campfire and Advanced Outdoor Cooking.

I am off to get the last of my gear together for our weekend.

Wish me luck !

Make today the day you tell that person how they have, unknowingly, inspired you.. Give them a call, shoot them an email, or simply show them gratitude by spending a few minutes of silence in their honor... reflecting on how they inspired you. You may just, unknowingly, inspire them by simply being you!

Inspiration ....

If you had told me a year ago that I would start a blog - I would have told you "no way".

Life here at home has changed so much in the past 6 months.

My oldest son has graduated from high school, then Air Force Basic Training and he is now stationed in  Mississippi.  I don't even know if he will be home for Christmas this year.

My younger children have settled into the school year and are doing well.  They don't really seem to be affected by the void that has been left with the absence of their older brother.

But .... back to my opening statement - I would never have imagined 'blogging' but I stumbled on a blog in September that has touched me.  It is the daily account of a very courageous grandmother trying to reunited her family.  Her story has inspired me in so many ways.
